Add Comment Wow... where has this year gone.. it is nearly November already.... Christmas ... time to get your pressie thinking hats on.... I have got myself sorted this year...Well the idea that is... yet to make.... yes to all my family and friends reading this... I am making your gifts this year as usual but taking a slightly OK very different tact this year.... It has been a very busy week, had the Art Party, and preparing for Kumeu Art In the Garden show. I am in a dragonfly garden, does that sound like a bit of me, I thinks so. Please do come say hello! :) .. So with out me going on too much here is what this weeks post contains... Scroggin Recipe....thanks to the Tea House on the Lake for sharing the recipe. Workshops I will be running in November and a few pictures of a couple or three new products. I am also going to start a feature.. called dreaming a dream....and making it real! Now where should I start. Workshops In November (mid) I will be at Folk Art and Gift all day on Wednesdays.... YAY I have big plan... lots of fun to be had. So I want to run some day workshops, Resin Pouring, Transfer Techniques, Tile making with Casting Plaster, Hearts with decorative imprinting, Altered Books.... like I said lots of fun to be had.... New Products I have had great fun this week, I guess you could almost say that i have been a woman possessed again, when I find something I like there is no stopping me. This week has been all about, perfecting transfer technique... working with different surfaces. I now have a range of tote bags, they are very very cool. 100% cotton, from www.cottonbynatrue.co.nz .. These are a great product, I used mine to do the supermarket shopping this morning very sturdy. Anyways... Here is what I created..... Also new this week are a couple of designs.. two of which are on the bag. The others on the the wall tiles featured below. Awesome afternoon spent in the studio teaching what I have learned, passing knowledge forth..... We made our wall plaques.... added a shape ( today it was a fluer dis lis, tomorrow who know the possibilities are endless.) Painted it, finished with an antique crackle..... I have been teaching the Antique crackle works for going on 5 years and I still get excited to see the finished product. The other plaque... we made and learnt a transfer technique.... I have 4 new workshop starting and continuing in to August
![]() Welcome Ok so this is freebie Friday except I am running a couple of days late and it is actually a Sunday.. I have finally uploaded the two images to down load.... Welcome and Lavender , download here I have also decided to go with all the requests I have had to teach a digital design course..... Thanks to twitter the answer to software solution, flashed before my eyes. There is really something in the old saying "knock and the door will open - ask and you shall receive. Brilliant..I say...and thanks universe. So anyway details on that will be listed here during the up coming week. My work for the New Zealand Art show is coming together nicely... Just working on getting my Zebra in the bath images on to perspex so they are bathroom safe... just seems the natural place for them. ![]() I plan this blog to be about both sides to my business, the digital artistry and the hand craft. I held a Resin Pouring workshop at Real Tart Gallery on Saturday and it was fantastic.... In this workshop we decoupged a pair of mdf hearts and then pour a resin on to finish. This went so well, and had lots of enquires for other workshops.... so I have booked the Gallery Workshop space for a few more weeks. Workshops I am looking at running... are Antique Crackle on canvas and other mediums, Altered Book, possibly even a beginner guide to digital design. Although this class will run from my home so we have use of a wireless internet connection. So please take a look at my calender for upcoming workshop dates. |
