I am really sorry folks, I know I promised I would have the citra-solv blog up today, I underestimated what I needed to have done and have run out time .. should be heading out the door as I type(have a resin pour workshop tonight). Time is going so quickly, sometimes I wonder if I am moving fast enough with it, growing enough... making the changes that need to be made... quick enough as to not to lose track and become complaisant and continue to live by my past experiences(nasty circle that can be). So am I ...Maybe, maybe not. It looks like this year is one of change, big changes... some a little scary. But hey I guess that is what life is all about and is what is going to make me a better person. I have started using paint as a medium more in my work, I am traditionally a print media freak, but in order to encompass my love if image transfer grown and change were needed. I started with water colours... (dragonfly and create(te here) but really want to move on to en-caustic (it hits my "I want to learn" button right on target). Wish(wi here) was my first play maybe a little unsecessful in the terms of en-caustic works but I love the effect and intend to to more. I also am taking a leap of faith in my surreal digital works and creating some fantasy images.... ALWAYS wanted to but did not think I could do it.... Have to run... started a night class.. small business management... Stay happy one and all and do what you love...... love what you do Being on the move again I thought it was time to finish a couple of projects that I had around the house. The vase I brought for 50cents, the statue $7.99 at the Warehouse. This is just going to be a very simple how get this effect. All very easy, couple of layers of paint, a lime wash and a sand and you are done! While I was working on a image last night I had an idea...my image has birdcages in it, so I thought I would make some that you could use also... pretty ones... click here for larger download Every year I partake in Twitters #nzsecretsanta (ok so this was on the 2nd year of it running, but I have taken part in both), this year I drew a twitterer which I did not follow so did not know at all.. In her profile it has she is a librarian and a few days earlier I received an email from a friend with a necklace with book charms. So naturally I thought right this is what I am going to attempt ... the slide is how it is done.
